This project is a Karl Schinkel chandelier frame including metal and wood components.Karl Schinkel chandelier frame including metal and wood components. A related chandelier (not the subject) is shown above. In general, condition is fair/good. Some wood components have pieces broken off (but still extant), some minor losses. Metal components have overpaint and or small losses to gilding and base. Minor wood repairs/replacements will be needed. Most condition issues relate to the gilded surfaces. Goal is to have a consistent appearance reflecting the original intent plus appropriate, but not excessive age related conditions. No components should show previous partial repairs. Many components, particularly the metal pieces will be stripped and entirely regilded.
